Belle is an NPC in Lies of P. Belle is a solider from the outside trapped inside the Grand Exhibition Gallery. NPCs are non-playable characters that players encounter and can interact with throughout the course of the game. NPCs play an important role since they often provide helpful information, resources, and services that will help the player throughout their journey.

Where to Find Belle in Lies of P
You can spot Belle from the Grand Exhibition Gallery Stargazer. After you load in, look left to find a tall wooden crate covered in ropes. She is standing on the 2nd level just above the top of the crate and behind some drapery. Her back is turned. Be careful not to defeat Champion Victor before talking to her as it will result in her death.
To reach you will need to progress through the level a bit. Once you have the outdoor shortcut unlocked head outside, take the 2 ladders up, then head back inside. Take a 3rd ladder down just after entering the building. You will hear Belle speaking as you get closer
Belle Related Quests in Lies of P
The following Quests that are listed below are related to the NPC Belle in Lies of P:
To locate Belle, teleport your way to the Grand Exhibition Gallery Stargazer. Turn 180 degrees and head to the courtyard of the library. Here you will find a puppet with a two-handed sword and a puppet dog. Deal with them and head through an opened gate that leads you to stairs and eventually arrive in an area with a tree. Pass the tree, there's a ladder that can lead you to a balcony with an open entrance. Notice a ladder that further leads you to the higher level of the gallery. Ascend the ladder, and traverse the iron bridge here with a puppet with a two-handed sword once again. Be careful not to defeat Champion Victor before talking to her as it will result in her death
Enter the library from here and notice you can easily fall into the lower levels if you are not careful enough. Slowly take out all the puppets here that can throw projectiles at you. From the entrance where you came in, there is another ladder that can lead you to Belle's location. Speak to her to properly start the quest. She will request to defeat the Champion Victor, the main boss of the Grand Exhibition. After defeating the said boss, Belle will move to Hotel Krat.
To continue this questline, players need to progress further in the game and defeat the Green Monster of the Swamp. Once this is done, they should speak to Belle again to continue her Quest. In this quest, Belle asks the player to look for her friend. To do so, players should fast-travel to Krat Central Station Platform Stargazer, walk through the doorway to the left, and then go through the gate on the right. Go down the stairs ahead and turn to the right to find an entrance to the traincar under the stairs. Once inside, you will find Belle's partner, the Infected Man named Atkinson. Talk to the Infected man to receive Atkinson's Letter.
Players should then return to Hotel Krat and talk to Belle once again. If players want to lie, they should choose the dialogue "He was killed in action fighting a puppet." If players want to tell Belle the truth, choose the dialogue "He became a monster." Lying will give players the Why Record as a reward.
If you attack her partner, he will turn hostile and won't drop his letter upon dying. You can return to Belle to tell her the truth ("he became a monster"), in which case, she will reward you with an electric abrasive, and then die next to her partner's body. Or, you can lie to her and say "he ran away"

I don't like that she's dead if I kill Atkinson. I'd prefer it if me killing him had an impact on her survivability. Unless of course the idea is that she commited suicide when she saw his corpse, in which case, his corpse should remain in the cart.

I did her quest, found Atkinson without killing him, took the letter and told her the truth and she disappeared after the earthquake. I went back to the carriage and she was dead with Atkinson standing there and a lockable-on enemy... :(

The timming to get the quest from her at the hotel is wrong. You don´t need to beat the Corrupted Parade Master boss, you can talk to her as soon as you beat the previous boss (the one on the puppet graveyard). I am just at this part and was checking here to see why I didn´t get the recording from her on my previous playthrough.
I also remember I found him on my 1st playthrough, but as he looked like a monster I killed him without even thinking. I know now it is him because he speaks something like any npc or optional boss when you kill it. At the time I didn´t pay too much attention as my health was so low that I just wanted to find a stargazer.

I dont really see the reason why she dies after you defeat viktor...
I didnt find her at first, since i was too busy fighting the shield dude to notice a ladder.

I believe if you kill Victor before talking to her she dies.
She's dead on my playthrough because I forgot about her and only remembered at the Krat Train Station, but I assume its related to Victor like it is for Cecile and the Archbishop

This is incorrect, you can talk to her as soon as you clear area 8, after defeating the swamp boss, and she'll tell you about where to find her partner Atkinson

I found her after I killed Victor but she's still alive. She wants me to kill him even though I already did

What the actual **** were they thinking with Atkinson!? EASILY seen through the door WELL before you're close enough for him to talk to you, looks exactly like a regular enemy, same idle animation as regular enemies, same health as a regular enemy so it's INCREDIBLY easy to kill him before you can register that he's friendly, but that doesn't even matter because he PERMANENTLY AGGROS if you hit him even once, screwing you out of the record. And the game just has to rub salt in the wound by having Bell chastise you for screwing up if you lie to her after killing him. Yeah, I sure messed up by killing the NPC that's physically indistinguishable from a regular enemy and has the most half-assed "protection" against players accidentally killing him because why the hell wouldn't they?! Unbelievable.

How can you lie to her saying "he ran away"?? Also killing him after he gives you the letter and telling her he became a mosnter, she'll still be dead in the same spot

So I told her the truth, when I visited Atkinson again (when he became a hostile) she was dead there.
after the hotel got attacked, I found her there alive how??

I was able to initiate the search part of the quest directly after beating the Green Monster of the Swamp and completed it during my playthrough of Krat Central Station. I did not need to beat the Corrupted Parade Master before doing so. Might be worth an edit.

Exact same look of a normal carcass, same health too. Killed him through the wall with puppet ripper with two hits. No ‘NPC’ indicators until you enter the train

If you kill the Champion Victor before finding her shes dead when you go to find her. So should probably be added to the walkthrough to see her first before defeating the area boss.

I did the last part of her quest without even seeing the corrupted puppet master. Found her partner and used the warp near him asap and it worked just fine

belle's corpse is in the train for me but she's also still in the hotel which is strange. can still talk to her but i failed her quest cuz i accidentally hit atkinson

If you tell her the truth, she goes to try find Atkinson, you'll find out Atkinson is now a targetable enemy and her body is beside him.

She will die if you defeat Victor before finding her. I learned that the hard way.

Missed her the first time through, killed Victor, and when i learned her location by looking up info on the area after, I went back to find her.
All I found was her corpse, whoops!
Worst quest in the game by far imo. Basic fromsoft game: you usually have to attack an npc like 3 times before they become hostile. And even then you have an option to absolve sins. Here? You even touch this guy once and the quest line fails until next playthrough. I’m not going to stop and read text when I’m 3 feet from an enemy that looks like every other monster.
