Full Path of Misery Walkthrough

The way to the Cathedral

As you exit the cable train from Moonlight Town, look to your right to find a Vivid Ergo Fragment. After picking it up, interact with the Path of Misery Stargazer up ahead. Head towards the open gate and you'll get into a short cutscene that showcases a new type of enemy - Carcasses. Don't be fooled by their appearance - they'll rush at you very quickly, only stopping when they get to you or after they run a fairly long distance.

Make your way through the doorway and defeat the Carcass at the steps. Head up and go into the shack up ahead at the turn. You'll fund a Hidden Moonstone within. Continue forward. You'll get to a split in the path - you can either go right, walking across a riverbed, or continue forward up some steps. Go forward for now. Defeat the two Carcasses here and in the building to your left, you'll find a Venigni's Urgent Repair Tool. Exit the building, then grab the Radiant Ergo Fragment from the bridge to the left. You can defeat the two Carcasses on the bridge, but if you step onto the wooden planks here, they'll collapse underneath you.

Drop down onto the riverbed and follow it to the other side of the broken bridge. At the top of the slope, you can interact with the stone tablet to learn a little bit about St. Frangelico. Turn left at the top of the slope and go through the doorway at the top of the steps. Gemini will hypothesize that the Carcasses are humans who have had their bodies altered. Continue forward and defeat the three Carcasses at the base of the steps. If you look behind and to your left, you'll find a Sawtoothed Wheel behind some crates.

Head up the steps and enter the building in front of you. Pick up the Woman's Prayer from the ground, and you can interact with the Angel Statue to your right if you wish to. You'll then have two main directions to go, through the closed double doors on the left or through the doorway leading back outside forward and slightly left.

Go through the doorway ahead first. Follow the path down until you reach Giangio. Speak to him, and he'll ask you to look for a Gold Coin Fruit to help him develop a cure for the Petrification Disease. You'll be given Guillaume's Ballad to learn more about the Gold Coin Fruit. Speak to him again, and he'll give you the Cube and a Recovery Wishstone as a down payment. The Cube is used to consume Wishstones to provide P with various one-time use effects.

When you speak to Giangio once more, he'll let you know that he's headed to the St. Frangelico Cathedral and to find him there once you've gotten a Gold Coin Fruit. After speaking to him, look behind the statue behind him to find a chest that contains the Belford Break Cartridge.

Return to the Angel Statue, and this time move towards the closed double doors. To the left of the doorway leading up to it is a Fire Abrasive on the ground. Pick it up, then open the double doors ahead. You'll be greeted with a view of a fight between some Carcasses and Puppets on the bridge leading to the St. Frangelico Cathedral. Defeat the remaining Carcasses, as well as the Elite Carcass. Be careful while fighting the Elite Carcass as it can inflict Decay on hit, but after being defeated, it will drop an Acid Canister.

About halfway down the bridge, you'll find a Dim Ergo Fragment in an alcove to the right. Head down to the end of the bridge and turn left to find an Attribute Purification Ampoule. Head up the stairs and open the door at the end to reach the St. Frangelico Cathedral Chapel.
