Puppet String is a Legion Arm in Lies of P. Puppet String is a Legion Arm that can shoot a wire, it is useful for pulling enemies towards you and following up with a string of attacks. The Legion Arm is a prosthetic arm that provides Pinocchio with special moves that he can use when fighting against hostile characters. The Legion Arm consumes a unique MP that is designated for the Legion Arm and it can only be replenished by consuming a certain consumable item or by resting at a Stargazer.

Puppet String Legion Arm Information

A Legion Arm that can release a wire. It can be strung around an enemy to drag it toward you or to move you toward it. Stalkers devised a tool that increases their mobility during combat with puppets. The wire instantly narrows the distance between one and one's enemy, but it cannot guarantee one's safety afterward.

  • Use is ill-advised until level 3 for the launch attack.

Lies of P Puppet String Notes & Tips

  • Dynamic Combat - Puppet String: This allows you to pull enemies in from a distance to do a fatal backstab attack. Take a step forward and get the timing right to achieve these fatal attacks. Also, when fully leveled, you can do an immense set of damage while flinging yourself into the air. It does have an excellent stun ratio on large enemies causing superior stagger or fall along with high damage. The launch attack will also fully stagger allowing you to close the gap for a fatal attack preparation. It is a quick-to-kill and risky Legion Arm.
  • There are drawbacks as you can rarely get knocked out of the air (Rifleman Puppets especially or throwing enemies, rarely) or launch yourself into an attack (even above), but that can be avoided by dodging after hooking an enemy with the second level. It does have issues with groups of enemies because of the stunning, unless you have level two, dodge to where there isn't an enemy to get in your way then you can usually kill the group with the third-level launch attack. Stairs, walls, or even minute debris or lips will stop you from finishing your launch so BE READY to guard, dodge, or attack.
  • Sometimes it doesn't function correctly but I'd say the benefit outweighs the risk as you learn to use it.
  • There is a lag for any action of about one second after the launch attack, either hold guard or dodge. Otherwise, get hit by an incoming enemy
    • Advised to untarget current enemy before finishing the launch attack (in the air) and look around for incoming enemies.
  • At level three the arm's ability scaling ramps up to B, S, and C, respectively.

This thing helps make a powerful but short reach weapon combo like wrench head + baton handle less frustrating. You don't have to worry about missing when puppet string yanks you and your target so close you could lick their eyeball. I tried a couple arms with better motivity scaling that would seem to match up better based on damage scaling, but went back to the string each time.

sure, its special abilities are excellent and everything, but I've used this thing several times just to chip the very last .1 health away from a boss many times and its always a great feeling. Especially when the boss and I are both down to nothing.

i don't see the page mention it anywhere, but if you pull an enemy towards you you can press the legion button again to follow up with a punch. it does pretty good damage and will knock a lot of the human sized enemies on their posteriors. not sure if this is tied to an upgrade at all

Made the stupid decision to not make this the first arm I maxxed out. I've been running this with Live Puppet's Axe and the stagger and damage should be illegal it's so good

Interesting thing, doesnt do just damage:
You can use it to separate groups of enemies
Pull one out of a position where you dont want to fight him
Finish enemies off by spamming from afar (Did so with the Donkey)

My favorite thing about this arm is how it's power is basically non-existent till the final upgrade. That attack link is so powerful

The first upgrade "Trace" is what allows you to pull yourself toward enemies, you need a Legion Caliber from Fuoco (I believe that's the first Legion Caliber available).

What does "trace" or "track" mean in this instance (first upgrade) ? I don´t get it. Will have to use an upgrade to find out, as the game does not explain this. The nice little videos are fine and all, but this one in particular does nothing to explain it XD I want to use this for the final upgrade, anyways, it just buggs me that I don´t even know what this first upgrade does.
