The Acidic Great Curved Sword is looted from a chest in the Arche Abbey Outer Wall Stargazer.
- From the Stargazer, go forward and drop down into the platform with decay. Then, go up the ladder and go up the next set of stairs you see. Continue forward until you see an enemy next to a brazier. From here go left and straight ahead up some stairs to meet a scorpion-like Carcass Enemy. In the room it came from is a chest containing the Acidic Great Curved Sword.

Acidic Great Curved Sword Blade
A curved sword blade made by the Alchemists while researching Carcass body fluids. It was designed to spray acidic body fluid over the blade at regular intervals.
The Alchemists took notice of the fact that Carcass body fluids had an acidic quality. After extensive research, they devised a weapon that dug into one's body like a viper's fang and inflicted continuous damage.
Acidic Great Curved Sword Handle
The handle of a curved sword made by the Alchemists while researching Carcass body fluids. The bottom of the handle is finished with a snake head decoration.
The serpent of the Uroboros was a symbol that the Alchemists held sacred. They made the weapon of their dreams from the Carcass body fluid that reminded them of the viper.

AnonymousDidn't play before whatever patch changed the acid buildup, but with the fable buff active it absolutely inflicts decay in less hits than it does with grinder buffs. Which is very good obviously because the fable buff is so short.

After my test, confirmed that the ADVANCE scaling on the handle doesn't increase the acid damage of the blade's fable art

the new patch fixed the acid slash art, the buildup seems to be on par with acid grindstones now

This weapon is overpowered with the GoF handle, world class guard, one of the fastest greatsword movesets, a fable art that enables perfect guard regardless of timing, and the only real downside is the lack of range.

A VERY important thing to note about the blade of this weapon: its fable art buff does not stack with ANY grindstone buff. Using the fable art will OVERWRITE the grindstone buff and vice versa. This even includes defensive grindstone buffs like the perfect guard one.
And on top of that, the fable art buff is extremely weak. Just to compare to the acidic grindstone with the same weapon on the training dummies in the hotel: Using the grindstone I can trigger acid status in 5 hits. Using the fable art, I cannot even trigger it before the buff runs out - 12 hits, or 14 if you include the two from the fable art itself.
I have not tried it on an advance build, so maybe the buff scales strongly. But even then, you're only getting weapon damage from your advance stat when the short duration buff if up, and if I was an advance build I'd rather use something like the acidic axe head that always benefits from your stats.

Pair the blade with pickaxe handle or glaive handle. It's an acid weapon for STR or DEX build.

does the fable art of the blade damage increase with Advance level?
if not it's weird to have a handle that is made for split scaling have a blade that isn't outside of the fable art
maybe the devs realised they only made one split scale tec/adv handle with the fire knife and needed a second one that focused on slash attacks

I love that this blade doesn't have acid damage naturally, that means you can put it on a different handle and it doesn't lose out on scaling because the damage is split. It's a really good slashing blade. Good range, good weight, good damage. Throw it on a light or medium handle like salamander, booster glaive, or dancer's handles and you got a hard hitting, good scaling medium weight weapon

Probably one of the worst weapons of the game, just because they didn't naturally imbued the blade with acid damage.

i really dig this weapon but the blade should have base acid damage. the fable art on it makes no sense and the handle's advance scaling does nothing for it
this + master chef handle = OP
