Advance Crank is a Material in Lies of P. Using the Advance Crank allows players to increase their handle's Advance Scaling by 1 tier. Materials are divided into 2 categories that are used to enhance or upgrade different parts of the players' Weapons, and other Materials players may acquire. Players can keep track of their Materials in their inventory menu.
A Crank that changes a weapon's properties.
It alters a handle's abilities.
A Crank invented at the Workshop to allow fine adjustments at the Workshop to allow fine adjustments to weapon handles.
If one ability strengthened, the opposite ability is weakened.
Where to Find Advance Crank in Lies of P
Advance Crank can be found in:
- Can be found under the bridge towards the Boss Mad Clown Puppet in Rosa Isabelle Street Entrance.
- Can be dropped from a Dimensional Butterfly in the St. Frangelico Cathedral Library.
- Can be found on a metal ledge in Arche Abbey - Internal Bridge. Reach the highest level of the bridge and look for the Advance Crank item on the outer metal ledge.
- Can be found under a bridge in Rosa Isabelle Street Culvert near a flamethrower puppet.
- Can be looted from a Dimensional Butterfly in the cave after the Barren Swamp Bridge Stargazer.
Advance Crank can be purchased from:
- Pulcinella for 800 Ergo: Available by default in his shop at Hotel Krat.
- Pulcinella for 1500 Ergo: x2 is added to the shop's inventory after giving him a total of 2 Venigni Collection boxes.

AnonymousAdvance is pretty powerful as a build path; you get great scaling on 3 of the best arms, good scaling on consumables, and access to a limited but powerful number of weapons with some useful status effects. Unfortunately, advance cranks only add one level of advance scaling to a weapon, meaning if it has no scaling with advance, a crank will only give it D scaling. This means you're stuck with the handles that do scale with advance and there are 3 types of those: low motivity/high advance, low technique/high advance, and low motivity and technique/very high advance. You can do what I did and spec into a pure advance build, or you could add other cranks to those handles to make them work better with one of the other damage stats (since advance never decreases when you add a crank.) Trouble is, a lot of those weapons are late-game, meaning you're stuck with either the Salamander Dagger/Acidic Spear or Electric Coil Stick for a long time! Probably a more reasonable NG+ build if I'm being honest.

Do advance cranks increase damage with elemental grindstones? I made an advance build, but I want to actually use a boss weapon

There are (almost) enough of these in the base game first playthrough if you're interested in increasing the base Advance scaling of handles that already had Adv. scaling, from B to A, or A to S respectively. Beyond that, increasing the Advance scaling of weapons outside that stat's category seems pretty much out of the question. I don't think it's a huge issue-- I am definitely looking forward more to the NG+ playthrough on my Adv build though
damn there is this few in the game? also, why do some handles require 2 cranks to alter?
