Hermit's Cave Walkthrough

Unlocking Hermit's Cave

First off, here are the necessary steps to properly start this side quest. It requires players to interact and get the specific items to proceed. Please note that you can only explore this area after you acquire the Special Krat Supply Box in the collapsed version of the city and all the required items.

• Engage in conversation with Rookie Explorer Hugo and thoroughly explore all available dialogues to acquire a Cryptic Vessels.
• Make your way back to Hotel Krat and present the Cryptic Vessels to Venigni.
• Proceed with the storyline as per the standard progression. When you reach the Collapsed Street Stargazer this is the area where you need to find the Special Krat Supply Box. We dedicated a page for this so be sure to check that out.
• Head back to Hotel Krat and deliver the Box to Polendina.
• Purchase the Rusty Cryptic Vessel from his recently updated shop.
• Present it to Venigni for decryption.
• Upon returning to Barren Swamp Bridge, you'll notice that the gate at the stargazer is now accessible and the way to Hermit's Cave is now unlocked.

From the Entrance of Hermit's Cave

In this section, we will be covering the area. This guide covers progression and most of the items that you can get from this area. You will be dealing with Carcasses in this area so be sure to come prepared. Starting off from the entrance. Talk to Hugo and hear his excitement about the cave. Also, select the dialogue " About the treasure. " and he will give you the x1 Old Cryptic Vessel. After doing so, enter the cave and grab the x1 Attribute Purification Ampoule along the way. Notice the string that has been set up on the floor? Avoid it. Follow the straightforward path and eventually, you will find yourself in a series of interconnected platforms like the ones you traversed in Barren Swamp Ravine. The first set of enemies has an elite in them. Eliminate the Medium Carcass equipped with a propane torch to get an x1 Star Fragment.

After clearing the enemies head to the ladder to access the lower floor platforms. Pass the bridge you will an item situated on a shack's roof. Head there and get an x1 Special Purification Ampoule, jump into the shack's hole, and get an x1 Someone's Report Notes Notebook collectible. Exit the shack head to your right first and get a x1 Resplendent Ergo Fragment at the end of the platform. Backtrack to the shack and head to the other side of the platform. Get the nearest loot which is a x1 Half Moonstone.

Activate The Hermit's Cave Stargazer

From here, you will be able to see a ladder that you can take to access the lower platforms. Do so and a chest is waiting near the ladder, situated inside the shack. Open it and get an x1 Quartz. A few steps away you can also get an x1 Chains. There is another Medium Carcass equipped with a propane tank lurking around the shack. Kill it and get another x1 Star Fragment. Near the shack, head to the long platforms that eventually lead you into a series of ladders. Take the ladders and eventually, you will find the Hermit's Cave Stargazer but before you activate it turn around and get the x1 Electric Blitz Abrasive. Head to the Stargazer activate it and rest before proceeding.

Defeat the Shielded Medium Carcass

After resting, progress by jumping or taking the nearest ladder to access the lower platform beneath the Stargazer. Get an x1 Dark Moon Moonstone of the Covenant. On the other side of the platform, past the bridge, an elite enemy will ambush you. A medium carcass equipped with an axe. Be careful as this enemy loves to pound you with multiple strikes and even dish out overhead attacks. After defeating this enemy, it will drop a x1 Star Fragment. Open the nearby chest as well which contains x1 Black Steel Cutter Blade and x1 Black Steel Cutter Handle. Follow the platforms here and pick up a x1 Throwing Cell along the way. The platforms will lead you to a straightforward path. Notice the other loot situated on a platform where you need to jump on? Get it and receive a x1 Cluster Grenade. Follow the platform and eventually, you will find yourself in a built-in structure.

The path is pretty straightforward you will not be lost. Guarding the area is an elite enemy. A Shielded Medium Carcass. Defeat it by avoiding its hard attacks and it has relatively slow speed.

However, it has a lot of HP so the fight may take a while. Get an x1 Misty E'Ra Record after defeating this enemy. The real rewards are waiting in the next room. Proceed to the next area and open the vault. This vault contains x1 Black Cat's Hunting Apparel and x1 Quartz.
