Laxasia the Complete Fight Strategy

The Best Tips for Laxasia the Complete:

Laxasia is a large powerful boss whose fight is split into two phases. She has the ability to afflict Electric Shock with her Weapon. She has a large Great Sword Swing that cuts downwards and follows up with an Electric shock in addition to her regular melee attacks. She has all the basic melee sword combinations from swinging, sweeping posting, and combinations of slashing and cutting that have a far reach due to how tall her sword is. Any chance you get, land a fully charged attack to stagger her in between these swings while they don't exert electricity.

She has a variety of special Electric attacks that come in different patterns. Some of her basic melee attacks will be laced with electricity or can radiate and inflict electricity following the attack action. She can also draw a line trap of Electric Shock that will affect you if you come into contact, and has a charged attack that begins as a regular melee swing before charging up with one big final slash on the ground charged with electricity. Some of her bigger swings can spread electricity in a line that fans out upon contact with the ground.

These attacks are generally long sequences and combinations of attacks that are delivered in a series. Make sure you become familiar with their patterns since the electricity output can be unpredictable during the first encounter. Make sure you know when each attack ends before approaching with your own attacks so that you avoid getting afflicted with her shock. Since she wields a large heavy weapon, a lot of her basic moves are slow-moving allowing you to dodge as she raises her weapon, winds up, or draws back as her attack animation begins. At times, she will also deal a powerful charged attack that will be followed by an opportunity to retaliate with a Fatal Attack. There will be an indicator to show you where to stand to deal a successful attack. Take advantage of this attack and read her attack swings every time she raises her sword then block or dodge away from them. Look out for these attacks and windows for your own attacks until you clear her HP. The Second phase of her fight will begin.

Phase 2

Phase 2 begins after completing her first full health bar. During the second phase, she sheds her heavy armor and manages to move around the area with more speed and ease while delivering a number of quicker melee attacks with her sword along with a few additional electrical attacks.  Some of her bigger electricity attacks during this phase will give you a window to deal a Fatal Attacks. She will exhaust herself and be marked for a critical hit. Make sure you take advantage of these periods. She now also has the ability to leap into the area and come down with a powerful attack and can now deal aerial ranged electric attacks. These can be deflected back at Laxasia to deal a great amount of damage. Quickly react and adjust your angles constantly through this phase to match her new speed and agility. Take advantage of your movement capabilities and deal a charged attack when you can.

Laxasia the Complete Attacks & Counters

Attack Description Counter
360 Charged Attack Big sword surrounding sweep followed up with an electrically charged swing. Back away to avoid the range of this attack completely.
Uppercut Swing Spam / Slam Spam She swings her sword side to side in a series of uppercut swings all while advancing toward you, ending with two spinning attacks. Has a variant that will perform a series of downward slamming attacks, concluded by a final delayed slam. The final slam is a Fury Attack. The Uppercuts variant can be safely sidestepped if sprinting and keeping your distance. Prepare to dodge the final sweep. The Slam variant can be dodged and ran away from, or dealt with consecutive Perfect Guards for massive Stagger Damage.
Stab Laxasia takes a big step forward and lunges forward with her sword.  This is a basic melee attack that can be blocked or dodged.
Kick Stab Laxasia kicks at you before following up with a thrust of her sword. The kick is a short-ranged attack followed by a longer-ranged attack. Dodge to the side to avoid them .
Electrically charged Swing A large swing that spreads electricity in lines that fan out upon contact with the ground. After you see this attack once, you will be able to see which area to avoid when this attack starts to play out. Reposition behind her and you will be able to attack her without taking damage.
Electric path Laxasia drags her sword on the ground, drawing an electrically charged path that will shock players who come into contact . Try to avoid her path and wait for this action to complete. Try to reposition as it plays out.
Electric stab (grab) Laxasia will taunt you then charge her blade, she will then pull back and thrust it towards you, impaling you then throwing you to the side. She will dash around the arena attempting the stab 2 more times until the attack lands. Standing close to Laxasia while she initiates the attack causes her to quickly thrust forward once. As soon as you see the taunt, be ready to dodge roll into the thrust and prepare for the next 2 attempts. Same thing for the quick variant but prepare to dodge into her when she pulls back her blade. (Parrying does not interrupt her 3 stab combo)
Sword Charge Laxasia charges forward and runs toward you with her sword in front of her and flicks the sword up upon approach. You will be able to anticipate the follow-up attack, so block or dodge as she approaches.
Jump attack She jumps in the air and lands with a melee attack. Block this attack as she descends.
Electric Downswing Upon getting Staggered, she will electrify her sword and smash the ground in front of her. After Staggering her, run out of range or around her until the sword hits the ground before going in with your Fatal Attack. If you're feeling confident, you can land a couple hits with a faster weapon before blocking/dodging the swing.
Phase 2
Electrical Blast Laxasia seems to charge up and blasts in electricity. You have to run out of range since this will affect the whole area surrounding her.
Electricity Dash Dashes around the area while emitting electrical shock.  Trace her path and follow her while keeping a distance to avoid her path.
Aerial Electric attack Laxasia leaps in the air and fires a ranged electric shot. Watch the direction of her attack and avoid it. Wait for her to come down so you can run in to attack.
Storm Cloud Lightning Attack Laxasia forms a cloud that repeatedly releases aimed lightning strikes before diving at you. After 5-6 lightning strikes, she will dive towards you. This dive is a Fury Attack. You will need to dodge or side step the bolts of lightning for the duration of the attack. You can also perform Perfect Guard at the bolts, which will send them back at her.
Double Slash + Shockwave Upon getting Staggered, Laxasia will swing her sword twice, pause for a moment, then send out an electric aura around her. Block or dodge the initial swings, then make some distance while she's charging the explosion. Be ready for the Fatal Attack.

A cool fight that could have been the greatest in the game but only ends up being good at best, due to how absolutely useless perfect guarding is in phase 1. Seriously, breaking her shield does nothing at all to affect phase 2? Breaking her weapon takes FORTY TO FIFTY PERFECT BLOCKS, and all it does is start phase 2, without affecting the moveset at all? It's faster and easier to just deplete phase 1's health rather than perfect block every attack for literally zero reward.

I don't think the fight is unfair or unwinnable or anything like that, I enjoyed it, but come on. There should be some actual payoff for breaking her equipment.

Phase 2 is usually very short one way or the other.
Perfection stone + maxed out sawblade, not being afraid of parrying lightbolts ended in a surprising victory (in the sense it went from not surviving more than 20 seconds to winning the fight without an intermediate phase).
Thoses short 2nd phase can make this fight frustrating but it eventually should succeed.

I really wanted her sword not the ouroboros wheel thing. I also wanted the eldest of the black rabbit brotherhoods sword but i guess not i guess chakram is ok even though its not even her weapon. Big electric dommy mommy for the win though.

I could spend the rest of my life deflecting that uppercut combo and never get tired of it. The rhythm of it has this super satisfying cadence to it which makes it easily the best and most satisfying attack in the game to deflect IMO.

This was actually a fun fight. The first stage was super simple. But that second stage is so fast and relentless it took me upwards of 20 tries to beat her. Found that even though I'm technique, a fully upgraded acid spear on the booster glaive worked better then the 2 dragons sword.

Worst boss in the entire ****ing game, I don't care what anyone says, the 2nd phase is complete and total bullshit, who the **** thought it was a good idea to give this ***** a second health bar?

                • Anonymous

Ah yes good old "Thunder Thighs" I had a lot of trouble with her my first time but after completing NG+2 I have found her to be really easy. Easy enough that I can casually play with her first phase like a toy by perfect guarding every attack.

                    >Hits you with the 12 hit combo straight into another 12 hit combo

Mom said it's MY TURN to play the game, Laxasia!

WHY DOES EVERY DAMN FIGHT IN THIS GAME NEED TWO HEALTH BARS????????

Second phase just isn't fun at all, she attacks non-stop and you almost never have an opening to actually HIT her, let alone stagger her. Oh, and if you SOMEHOW manage to do it? Don't worry, she does a two hit combo and an AoE nuke before she actually goes into the stagger animation, because **** you that's why.

Second-best boss in the game, right after Nameless Puppet. I'm back to this game after playing Sekiro for the first time, and I can't help but see a bit of Genichiro here. She's just as FUN to fight, even if her speed in phase 2 puts even Isshin to shame.

You can make the fight a lot easier on yourself if you use the Perfection grindstone, I did that when I was on NG+2 and just now on NG: at the start of phase 2, just pop the perfection grinder and hold down the parry key. You'll have time to block her entire opening combo, including the ground slam, and maybe even a couple of attacks afterwards. At the very least, this will let you spend more time with phase 2 to learn her moves if you're having trouble with the opening combo.

Really liked this fight, phase 1 might be one of my all time favorites in this game. For phase 2 i dared not even attack her and just reversed all her lightning projectiles lmao

                          • Anonymous

if you don't feel like perfect parrying all her moves in phase 1, you can strafe to her right during the upward swing combo. they're kind of split up into 3 sets of swings, you can tell as she slightly pauses between each one. i liked to wait until she does the upward swing at the start of the last set, which is followed by 2 horizontal swings. then time the double dragon heavy parry for just after she does that last upward swing and you'll parry+counter attack every time.

her lightning sword poke grab wrecked me until i figured out the trick. if she taunts you before starting it, she'll do it 3 times, no matter if you parry or dodge it, so keep that in mind. if she charges her blade and quickly backsteps, she'll only do it once. that being said, when you see her pull the charged sword back, roll towards her.

for phase 2: master parrying her bolts at the start, then you can perfect parry her strike when you see her *ever so slightly* shift down. that will time the block perfectly as it's nearly instantaneous from that point. then go in with a fable art or fully charged puppet string for the punish.

also, you can actually break her poise and interrupt her post break combo by continuing to attack her. i never realized she had that charge explosion until reading the comments because i managed to break her out of it while she was swinging her sword at me (didn't get to fatal attack her as a result).

Acidic Crystal Spear Blade + City Longspear Handle for Dex build with he tech-crank makes this boss a cake walk. Struggled with this one on NG+ with the Two Dragon Sword for a couple of days. First Phase could do clean, but takes ages. Basically have to do the special parry all the time to speed it up, but if you miss time you are done. Second phase was to aggressive to handle with that sword. After changing to Acidic Crystal Spear Blade + City Longspear Handle I did it in one try...

                                phase 1 is...fine
phase 2 is where it just generally stops being fun
she throws everything and the kitchen sink at you in a way that isnt fun
nameless puppet also does that but he feels so much more manageable and addicting to learn
thankfully when you beat her you're left with 2 really good bosses after her so it at least somewhat makes up for it

Despite what some people are saying, it is NOT possible to block her dive attack after the storm cloud. Tested it several times with the perfect parry grindstone for good measure. It will never block it not even partially. Do not try it.

I spent a tremendous amount of time trying to break her weapon without ever succeeding despite even ignoring fatal attacks on her. What's even the point of this mechanic?

                                    • Anonymous

The first phase has it's moments, it's a fun fight. Then it falls apart with phase 2. I really like most of the game but there really are some fights where they just wanted to add every mechanic and it creates a mess.
Not every boss needs a status ailment, not every boss needs a second phase. Not every boss needs to have a 12 attack combo. I'm not complaining it's hard, I'm complaining it's repetitive compared to the other bosses. I don't know, aside from looks, they don't really feel that varied to me.

Butcherknife handle puppetaxe blade is crazy. Got her on 2nd try. 1st phase is easy for the 2nd use perfect parry grindstone. Wait for her to jump towards u after the bolt attack and fable art. Easy win

Butcher knife handle+puppetaxe blade. Got her on second try ez af. 1st phase is quite easy as soon as she start 2nd phase use perfect parry grindstone and wait for her to jump towards u after the bolt attack then fable art and shes cooked

NG+ Phase 2 Laxasia is a living nightmare. She is so aggressive and mobile that the only reliable way for me to damage her was to reflect her aerial lightning bolts. Learn the timing to reflect them and/or use the Perfect Grindstone before she shoots like six in a row and then charges. You need to be defensive or she will slaughter you with her teleporting lightning combos.

                                            • Anonymous

Fking hell man, why does she has to do an AoE before going into the fatal attack state??? I was about to kill her and the ***** explodes before I can do the criticao attack

                                              • Anonymous

If you're dumb like me and spec'd into a really slow, heavy weapon build, your best bet in phase 2 is to deflect her lightning moves, block/reflect most everything else, and only attack when you for sure have a window. The reflected lightning does good enough damage and eventually you'll wear her down. Come in with lots of healing and free time.

                                                • Anonymous

At the beginning of Phase 2 immediately install 3 landmines under my feet and start parry lightning

She came in and trigger all mines
+ my fable art = instant stagger

Do that then she's 30% health left

                                                  • Anonymous

I guess this is the "have you learned to perfect parry yet" boss. Thanks to the anons who mentioned deflecting the lightning, that's about the only way to deal damage in phase 2. Took me quite a while, and I found phase 1 to be very fun to fight, but phase 2 is a little too autistic for me.

Will every game after Elden Ring get an armoured woman with a big sword who throws off her armour for phase 2 and transforms into a semi-naked version of herself who now relies heavily on some status debilitation effect? At least Laxasia is less of a Malenia than Pieta from lords of the fallen.

                                                    • Anonymous

Fun boss. Seems bullshit at first but not too bad once you figure out the tricks. Phase 2 you can Perfect Guard her lightning attacks which causes them to reflect back, dealing a lot of damage. She is pretty squishy. Dodge into her and to the right (towards the shield side) for most attacks and they will miss you. She's hard to stagger when her health bar is white, but it's doable, however she does a big flurry of attacks just before going down on one knee, so be careful of that before you go in for the Fatal Attack. Equip your best anti-shock and anti-slash gear, and Perfect Guard Grindstone and Aegis help a lot.

                                                      • Anonymous

In phase 2: if you Perfect Parry the lightning from her Storm Cloud Lightning Attack, it will turn red and reflect back at her dealing her damage.

                                                        • Anonymous

doing a Left Arm of Steel only run on ng+7 and she is by far the hardest so far, everyone else was either a first or second try but Im struggling with her a lot, love the fight tho.

                                                          • Long reach heavy weapon works wonder in this fight. Was using rapier+city spear at first but it didn't give any advantage because of her hyper armor and non-stop delay combo (which can't be more generic in a soul boss game to the point it's boring). Switched to Bone-Cutting Saw +Exploding Pickaxe Handle and cleared the first or maybe the second try. Made this fight much easier.

Start charging heavy attacks. They packs serious punch if used with acidic grindstone in 1st phase (of course it depends on weapon upgrade and your build too), you can easily take out a chunk (~15%) of health each time and they will quickly open her up for a fatal attack. Just watch out for her retaliation before the attack prompt (I think she does this for both phases). You can easily finish this phase without getting hit at all if your attacks connect plus the RNG favors you.

Same tactics for 2nd phase, just be careful her attacks will be a bit more difficult to read now, but you can consistently land a hit or 2 after the initial lightning bolts attack. You should try to reflect them because it gives you huge HP advantage, I never managed to dodge the dive but if you could you should be able to hit one more time. You might need to trade attacks but you still find openings after some combos. Most notably the jumping sword slam+electric discharge attack. You can safely land a hit or 2.

                                                            • Anonymous

Carcass body fluid won this fight for me. i had the first phase down to the point i was able to nearly perfect it, maybe use one health pot, but the second phase is just too aggressive to do much other than keep your health up. i got a few hits in when i could, running to her whenever she jumps to take advantage of the cooldown when she lands. but mainly i just tried to keep acid damage up. real nail-biter at the end when i would've been one hit - even blocked - missed a throw, but clipped her with the second throw as she was coming in for the kill.

1: Yes, you can break her shield, but even if you do she will still use it in her second phase, and it will still block 100% of damage when she holds it up. I'm not actually sure what breaking it accomplishes.

2: If you try to use buffs in the second phase (grinders, buffing fable arts etc) she will often use "time wasting" moves that involve jumping into the air and lingering there doing nothing until those buffs run out.

3: In phase 2 if you fill her stagger meter, she will try to hide behind her shield until her health bar stops flashing. Breaking her shield does not prevent this behaviour.

4: In phase 1, she will sometimes just spam her impale grab attack over and over until it lands. For some reason this attack isn't listed at all in the attacks & counters list above.

                                                                  • Anonymous

When do I get to do anything against the second phase? There's just no window at all to attack, heal, regen stamina, anything...

                                                                    • Anonymous

She is not immune to fire. I did, in fact, set her on fire and she was taking damage from it. So I don't know why it says that she's immune to it

                                                                      • Anonymous

Ok, it’s a fun and good boss in a way, and quite a challenge. But here is my gripe:

Phase 1 becomes absolutely trivial with an acid grinder or abrasive. With a little practice you can get through with 0-1 potions even if you’re casual (like myself).

But it’s still a bit of a slog to grind through Phase 1 each time, only to get smacked by a hyper-fast lightning superhero right after.

Like some other bosses in this game — too hard to me without spectre, but sort of trivial with one.

If you want to learn to solo her, I’d recommend spawning a spectre to just get past Phase 1 ASAP (takes like 20 seconds with acid grinder) and practice blocking her moves on Phase 2. Then just die and take her on 1v1 when you learned the Phase 2 moveset…

                                                                        • Anonymous

Its a fun fight, but after learning that the lightning is deflectable it ended up being a lot easier. Perfection grindstone for the start of the phase two completely blocks the entire combo and dealt ~40% of her health, acid abrasive after dodging one of her arial lightning blasts and managed to land the heavy attack stun. Careful if you do stagger her, she does a flurry of attacks and then a radial aoe right after before being open to the fatal strike. For me she jumped into the air for the lightning barrage, deflected manually the lightning bolts and that killed her

                                                                          • Anonymous

The best counter to phase 2 is use a perfect grind stone right as she begins to summon her lightning bolts. Hold block and it'll parry for you sending the bolts back for easy damage. Do not stop blocking until she slams into you at that point she's knelt down giving you a chance to attack. Use whatever your strongest fable art is and chunk her health. That should chunk her health bar a good amount. The rest is up to you now.

                                                                            • Anonymous

My biggest complaint is that the devs put knock back on perfect blocks. Most of her moves when perfect blocked sends you flying back decreasing your opportunity to fight. On NG this is fine. But on NG++ she'll constantly attack so finding opportunities to actually hit her takes alot of patience. I ended up having to dodge most of her big swings because parrying constantly pushed me our her range.

                                                                              • Anonymous

It took me about ten tries to defeat her, quite frankly the 1st phase was very easy with the grappling arm, a bit of acid and her shield leaves instantly if you attract it.
the 2nd phase you will have to stay more attentive and dodge at the right time to counter attack, the fight can end very quickly

                                                                                • Anonymous

Now this was a fun boss to struggle against. It took quite a few attempts, but both phases are badass (and the 2nd one has interesting...armor). It helps a lot when you can deflect all the lightning bolts back at her and then perfect parry her fury attack descend. When you are in the corner, you can then unleash your fable attack (you are unlikely to have time or fable later anyway) and deal quite a lot of damage in first few seconds of the fight. You still even usually have time for a fully charged R2.

                                                                                  • Anonymous

Finnaly got her .. but she beat hell out of me. This second phase and her movement is totally insane… I think it took me 6-8 hours to kill her.

                                                                                    • Anonymous

Lies of P bosses are (almost) all the same - really well designed and then someone decided to add one more ability/debuff to make basically fall apart. that second phase is pretty dumb.

                                                                                      • Anonymous

Phase two finally clicked for me when I started dodging behind her to the left. Similar to the Romeo fight

                                                                                        • Anonymous

The only thing i have a problem with is her ridiculous captain marvel charge. You can't avoid it, nearly impossible to perfect block

Other than that Laxasia is perhaps the most fair boss in the game along with nameless puppet, plain skill

                                                                                          • Anonymous

man that 2nd phase is incomprehensible, i fought her for hours and still dont know how to deal with 90% of her moves

                                                                                            • They had no reason making her this hot. I have a thing for pale women who beat the **** out of me in a dark gothic setting. In all seriousness though, I enjoyed this fight. Her weapon is sick, shame we cant get it.

Also, you can perfect deflect her lightning back at her! Once I realized this, the fight became so much better. Use acid grindstone to tear her up. Carcass Body Fluid consumables can also rack up good damage(400 Ergo at the Black Market Merchant, with Acid Grindstones at 620 Ergo if you need more than the Special Grindstones.)

Shot Puts are nice for stagger damage as well. You have to be very patient on her second phase, more patient than I'm used to lmao. Just take a few attempts just trying to see what she's got, the boss fog is super convenient for this fight so try not to stress. Actually, please game developers make more boss runs this good!!!

The fight is awesome, but can be frustrating. Good luck and good hunting.

                                                                                              • Anonymous

Found out that her back shield has HP, its not, you have to hit it certain amount of times to break it. I shattered it in one blow with my first puppet string. Was rare, I was sure her face was going to eat the hit, must have been turning. ( was ng+, feels like her shield has 3 to 4k hp, my builds puppet string hits 4.5k on max sharpness, 3k normally)

                                                                                                • Increase your special grindstone uses and equip the perfect guard stone. You can then put consumable acid grindstones on your belt. I never staggered her in Phase II, fwiw, but a couple of perfect guards and plenty of charged heavy attacks in Phase I did stagger her a couple of times. Using the big wrench head/glaive handle btw. One thing I noticed that people aren't talking about much is that you can hide behind the pillars on each side of the field when she does the storm cloud multi lightning attack. As long as you are paying attention to her position in the sky you can go left or right and most or all the lightning strikes will hit the pillar. Can't stop the unblockable landing attack obviously. She did at least 3 of the storm clouds in my playthrough so you'll run out of perfect guard grindstones eventually. You can learn the timing and perfect guard them all or you can be a jerk like me and not bother. She's actually nowhere near as tanky as I thought she'd be so that was nice.

                                                                                                  • Anonymous

Did they turn every bosses stagger WAY the **** up? There is no way in hell a stagger grinder, stagger P-Organs and about 10 charged hits didn't stagger her. ****'s broken

                                                                                                    • Anonymous

                                                                                                      Me at first, boss hard...
Me later after parrying lightning combo, Boss good!

Boss takes reduced dmg from back hits or even side hits that touch the shield .Destroying it in phase 1 helps. Just acid her then keep bonking, some slashes that target the back will count to the shield breaking. I found it pretty soft/simple to break, just let the acid play and keep cutting, dont have to try to focus the shield, it just pops off after some swinging at her.

When you stagger her, instead of backing away from her kneeling animation( which happens to include a painful front attack), run to her back, you can choose to hit her some more while her "surprise blow" misses, then still have time to make the fatal.

The blue cure drink really did me wonders in this fight, wont stay shocked long. Puppet string was nice, but it has to be timed when she is still or recovering.Acid grindstone really ruins her...

This fight was like the watchman boss, you parry, but you have to run around too for delayed thunder or back hits. Definitely found places to insert roll then cut or dash to her back and cut. ( didnt get a backstab, but still landed cuts)Felt good to use a lot of things... Her grab was way better, its not some death super dmg move, can be annoying, but you can recover, it looks cool and its telegraphed well.

She has moves where she jumps really high and the camera angle gets kinda weird if you are too close. I just kept dashing, worked out, but Im sure it can be parried and reflected like her opening.

                                                                                                      • Anonymous
