Damage Types in Lies of P determine the type of damage output players deal depending on the equipment used. This is also displayed while viewing each equipment item where it indicates the Attack Type of your current equipment piece. Other Damage Types can also be inflicted with various Items found in the game. Different Enemies and Bosses will also deal different damage types. Different Damage Types will also be more effective than others against specific Enemies in the game. Damage Types have two categories. They are sorted into Elemental Damage and Physical Damage. Find out about the most effective Damage Type and make guided decisions on different encounters when it comes to your Build and equipment. This mechanic encourages players to try different Equipment Combinations.

Damage Types Categories in Lies of P

There are two main Damage Types in the game. They are considered as either Physical Damage, which cover most basic weapons or attacks. Others are considered Elemental Damage which could have lasting effects and are usually inflicted by other enemies or require the use of special Items. An equipment stat directly related to Damage Types is the Attack Type which is a Stats found in all equipment. This determines the kind of Damage you will inflict. When assembling weapons, it's important to look at the Attack Type Stat for both the Blade and the Handle. You will want to match the blade with your handle to optimize your equipped weapon. Rapier, Dagger weapon types, and some Handles are effective when it comes to piercing attacks. Combining Blades and Handles that are proficient in Stab attacks will create a weapon that is high in inflicting Pierce-type damage.

While viewing all of the stats on any equipment piece, players will be able to view the Attack Types associated with it accompanied by a symbol. These symbols indicate the strength of effectiveness of the weapon in relation to the listed damage type.
