Parade Master is a Boss in Lies of P. The Parade Master is a powerful circus-themed parade puppet blocking the entrance to Hotel Krat. He is the first boss players encounter in Lies of P. The battle against him takes place in a plaza hosting the Krat Festival on the way to Hotel Krat. He deals with a number of basic melee and charge attacks. He wears a long top hat doubles as a weapon, and he eventually wields the makeshift mace weapon made from his own head and hat. Defeat him to gain the Parade Master achievement. Eliminating Bosses will usually cause them to drop rare Ergo. The Ergo you obtain by defeating a boss is extremely valuable. Players will eventually be able to exchange them for special Weapons and Amulets.

Although the enter audience disappeared in a pool of blood, the Parade Master was cheerful.  As long as there's a king the show must go on.

Players encounter the Parade Master after getting through a locked gate on the way to Hotel Krat. He is the first boss encountered in the game. Since it is an early-game encounter, players can make do with the available equipment at the start of the game including the starting Weapons and Defense Parts. If you want to stock up or swap out a weapon, you can see what the Wandering Merchant has to offer before you enter the gates through the circus area.

Some of the basic moves the boss starts with are its charge, stomp, punch, smash, and body slam attacks. He starts of with a set of basic melee attacks that will mostly affect the direct area in front of him allowing you to easily dodge his attacks or step out of the affected area. If you have good timing, you can parry most of these attacks. Before he charges, the boss will draw back its body then charge forward, and follow up with another melee attack. Continuously circle around to stay out of the Parade Master's line of sight and wait for it to charge before following up with a number of basic attack combos. Make sure you are locked on. There will be a pause directly after its stomp where you can deal a number of attacks. He can also throw his body down making a body slam. The Parade Master will be vulnerable and will take a few seconds to recover, giving you the opportunity to deal additional attacks.

Anytime the Parade Master is upright, watch his arm movement and dodge backward anytime he draws back his arm. This will be followed by a smash or punch attack which only affects the area directly in front of him. If you keep a distance, he will use his charge attack on you. Be careful when you position yourself behind him since he can also spin back around and take a swing at you from this angle. Time your attacks in between his attacks early fight since these are the best openings. As you progress, he will begin to use a combination of his basic melee attacks, so make sure to wait till the sequence is over before charging back in for your next attack. Be patient and wait for these openings and you will be able to slowly deplete his Vitality.

Once he reaches about half health, he reaches his second phase and throws his cage down then wields a makeshift mace weapon made with his head, increasing his range. Be cautious when he starts to glow red to avoid his undodgable Fury Attack. If you can, perform a perfect guard to counter it. Play aggressively in between attacks. Once he is staggerable, his HP bar will be highlighted in white. Successfully stagger him and he will fall, allowing you to freely attack during this period. Use your charge attack to stagger him during this opening.

With his newly wielded weapon, he will be able to swing his mace in the area directly surrounding him. This attack can be performed in a combo so make sure you are prepared for the whole sequence before charging in on him to attack. Time your attack and play aggressively in between his attacks until his health is depleted.

Parade Master Attacks & Counters

Attack Description Counter
Charge This attack is health when you are distanced away from him. The parade draws his body back before lunging forward toward you.  This attack has an obvious indicator, allowing you to reposition away from his general direction to avoid damage.
Melee Attacks The Parade Master performs a series of basic melee attacks using his arms such as punch and smash and swipe. This later is enhanced with a Mace he wields which extends his range Watch his arms draw backward. These attacks are short-ranged and will allow you to easily dodge or guard yourself.
Stomp Like his other melee attacks, he has another attack where he stomps directly in front of him. Dodge away as he lifts his leg and take advantage of the moment after he performs this attack.
Swipe This attack has a slightly larger range and allows him to swing back when you are behind him.  Try not to remain directly behind him because this attack will be harder to anticipate.
Body Slam The Parade Master will throw his whole body on the ground in front of him like a belly flop. You will only need to sidestep. This attack will be followed by a long opening for your own attacks.
Fury Attack When enemies become red, they can use a Fury attack that can't be dodged. The only way to counter these attacks would be to keep a distance or to counter with a Perfect Guard.
Mace Swing This is a bigger ranged attack that affects the area directly surrounding him.  Stay out of his direct area in between your melee attacks.
