Walker of Illusions Fight Strategy

The Best Tips for Walker of Illusions:

Walker of Illusions wields a long sword in one and a dagger for striking in the other. It deals a series of melee strikes and slashes, usually in a combo and is known for being able to project a duplicate projection of itself. It moves with great speed and can advance very quickly but you will be able to hold your defense against these long combos without damage intake as long as you block in time. With its secondary weapon, it can quickly launch its dagger and follow up with a combo of sword slashes while continuing to advance.  You will need to keep your guard while backing up.

Allow its combos to play out before lunging back to strike. The space is small, so even if you keep your distance, its lunge attacks may still be able to reach you, so anticipate its advances. There will be a brief window where you can attack in between the combos it deals so wait for these openings before charging in to avoid risking damage intake. If you want to approach aggressively, you can try to dodge through its slashes and get a better angle behind it, and begin attacking. If you manage to charge an attack and successfully hit, you will be able to knock it and follow up with a Fatal attack. Make sure to take into account its back-to- back combos when playing this way so that you don't get caught in its follow-up attacks by letting your guard down.

Walker of Illusions Attacks & Counters

Attack Description Counter
Side Swing A regular sword melee swing attack Roll through this attack to get into a better position.
Overhead Sword Swing Swings her sword down overhead. Dodge backward and continue to back up in case there are follow-up attacks in the combo.
Lunge Fury attack  Walker of Illusions can lunge forward with its sword. This can also be dealt as a Fury attack Run to either side and reposition around. If dealt as a fury attack, you will need to perfect guard.
Uppercut swing Swings its sword from below up. This can also be dealt as a Fury attack Block or dodge away from the attack. Block or dodge away from the attack

Overhead Sword Swing Swings its sword down overhead. Dodge backward and continue to back up in case there are follow-up attacks in the combo.
Dagger Strike  Overhead stab of the dagger as its secondary weapon.  Block this attack or dodge back if you have the space to anticipate any follow up attacks.

Illusionary Projection

The Walker of Illusions will spin away and summon a weaker duplicate of herself, either fighting with it or letting it fight on its own. Kill the illusion as it can be significantly hard to ignore, it has roughly 1600 HP but has the same move set.

Thrust

The Walker of Illusions will thrust its sword forward with the intent to stab.  You will be able to block this incoming attack.

Scream

The Walker of Illusions will quickly shuffle backwards before emitting an ear-piercing shriek that builds up Disruption. Will often use this when Groggy, and will clear Groggy when used. Quickly perform a dash attack to interrupt her before she can get the scream off.

This boss was just an utter slug-fest the first time. Parrying them felt super tough, so I just went “Random bullshit go!” And spammed every item I had until they fell.

I won in a more fair way the second time, but goddamn…glass cannon much?

      • Anonymous

After several tries it became clear to me. Don't try and "Sekiro" your way through this.
Her AI is totally busted. Dodge to your left, let her do her combo and get in your hits in between. Her tracking sucks.

Judging by the comments I can only assume like 90% of the people commenting here are running around with massive, slow Motivity weapons and Heavy encumbrance, because this miniboss is one of the easiest ones in the game to simpy strafe/dodge around. You don't even have to use Perfect Guards to beat it or break its weapon or anything, just use a normal block if you're caught out of place to minimise damage, that's it. This thing felt like the most Dark Souls-style enemy in the game up to this point. Just keep circle-strafing and dodging to the right and you'll be free and clear the entire fight. Why would anyone be having problems with this boss?

She did no clone in my first and only fight and I beat her with only 3 heal items left due to level progression. I am really confused to read about her here.
I used the Trident of the covenant and wear the "Illusory Emerald Glasses" for fashion. Maybe that helped in some secret way ??
Maybe I was leveling too strong (over 70 levels and 40 of that in Technique) or I was just lucky to stagger her ? Would be more fun if the Glasses did something though.

Two-Dragons Sword and Dodging to her right completely demolished her. A little bit of fire is welcome too.

actually a good fight, not too easy not hard. she grabbed me multiple times and shank me. would try it again 10/10.

She was kicking my butt in NG+.

When she summoned her clone I ran down the ladder (yes, you can do that), replenished my health, and equipped as many throwables as I could. When I went back up the ladder her clone self-destructed for some reason (lucky me).

I got her down to low health, threw a bunch of Shot Puts at her, then staggered and killed her. Pshew

Gotta love fextralife having a bounce of false information on their wiki, weak to fire is bullshit and its so easy to test for yourself.. weaker to Acid would over fire. takes 3 "Carcass Body Fluid Bottles" while it takes 4 to 5 "Thermite" to inflict the status effect.
The "Corruption" seems to do more damage over time to her too compared to the "Overheat" status effect

                    • Anonymous

I did manage to break her waepon, though it is not very useful as she still deals extremely high damage even with the weapon broken. This weapon breaking system is a great idea but damn, the implementation is really terrible. Very few enemies have a breakable weapon, in most cases it's faster and easier to just kill them right away and when you break it, it does not make that much of a difference.

                      • Anonymous

I think she would be an interesting fight without the clone phase.
I don't really understand the design idea behind this clone, it's really strange in my opinion. I mean, it actually incites you to not attack her, break her weapons and then get the clone for an easy time. Really strange idea from a developer standpoint.

                        • Anonymous

I struggled with her a ton trying to memorize and parry all of her attack sets. As soon as I decided to start dodging to my right/her left, I beat her first go. Her tracking isn't nearly as nuts as some of the other bosses in the game, so you can get out of the way, land a hit or two, rinse and repeat. Knowing her movement patterns helps of course because you're not gonna be perfect, but it brings the difficulty waaaaaaaay down.

                          • Anonymous

Beat her by farming ergo, porting to Malum District stargazer with the merchant, buying tons of throwables (mainly body fluids flasks, thermites, pipes and shotputs), and just spamming throwing weapons until she died. She cheeses the player, the player can cheese her back.

Actually one of the few dogshit bosses in the game, parry mechanic does literally nothing, shitty status effect, shitty moveset, shitty clone, not optional, **** loot. Made me quit the game for a week

Pretty bullshit boss, going against most lessons taught by previous bosses

Her weapon never breaks despite a lot of perfekt blocks and using acid, she has extreme variance in her combos, and can be countered by just dodging to the right...

Reminds me of the puppet scrapyard bossfight which had a lot of attacks that just felt unfair as well, especiaööy fast movement withput any legwork always feels like BS

                                • Anonymous

The comments made me worry, but I managed to beat her in one try.

Though I was level 100 and using the Easy Mode build (Motivity, Wrench Baton, Puppet String)

This boss is 100% weak to acid not fire, its a human type. also this boss is cancer on NG+ one shot disruption with lada cartridge is crazy

                                    • Anonymous

Easy Mode for the Boss: Dodge to the Side instead of Blocking. Try it 2-3 time and you got the Moveset, Blocking is Dying with this Boss

                                      • Anonymous

Locking Miss Megamind in place by climbing partway down the ladder and chucking all your throwables at her still works. I shot her once with falcon eyes and climbed back down, but only to about the halfway point of the ladder. You need to quickly climb back up BEFORE she reaches her reset point in the middle of the room. Poke her again with falcon eyes just to be sure it worked and that she doesn't re-aggro you, and then pelt her with everything you have. Happy cheesin'.

Was having fun no problems at all with any boss they all took like 4 to 8 tries this boss is pure annoying r1 spam bullshit yeah u can cheese him almost if u roll to his right but it won't matter if he back steps the spams again purely unfun to fight against id rather go fight all 10 erdtree beast from elder ring

This is the Pinwheel of Lies of P.

I can't really advise any specific strategy because I didn't need to use one, but as for equipment: City Longspear handle with the Tyrant Murderer's Dagger blade, and the Aegis legion arm makes extremely short work of her.

                                            • Anonymous

EASY WAY TO WIN: Virtually everything she does can be countered with a well-time dodge to your right, circling around her in a counter-clockwise fashion. Although her attacks do have a wide radius, she tends to lunge forward with almost every strike, which is what makes her so hard to retreat from. Because of this, simply dodging through the opening strike will place you almost directly behind her. From there, she will almost always miss you with the second strike, and you can easily land 1-3 hits and/or pop a healing charge. Depending on which combo she's locked herself into, you'll need to move or dodge a bit more to dodge the additional swings, but the trick is to focus on staying BEHIND, rather than away from her.

She's weak to fire- I used the Black Cutter Blade combined with the Tryant Knife handle to deliver 1 or 2 quick stabs while behind her.

Her duplicate will be a significant threat, but it doesn't have very much health. Prioritize removing it from the equation first, and don't be shy about using Legion or Consumables to put it down faster or more safely.

She wiped the floor with me some 10 or 20 times (I got to her illusion phase exactly once during this time) before I saw this advice buried in a Reddit threat, and when I tried this strategy I demolished her on the first try, and barely used even half of my healing charges.

                                              • Anonymous

Probably one of the more difficult mini bosses mostly due to her irregular attack pattern. Usually with swift attacking enemies you want to deflect to help defend against their onslaught. However, her combos can switch between various combo strings and vary in speed so deflecting can be inconsistent. This is because you have a split second to decipher whether it's a delayed swing, quick stab, fury move, blade barrage or downward stab. All combined with the fact that her poise during attacks prevent her from staggering and will trade in her favor most of the time. Slow weapons are at a extreme disadvantage she has so many gap closers that most of her attacks will immediately interpret you if you do not space yourself correctly. Overall this boss is not fun she swings like a mad man and barely gives you time to heal or retaliate. If her moves were more readable then it wouldn't be such annoying boss overall.

Just go to the black market guy by the Malum district stargazer, he sells unlimited throwables, get yourself stocked up on termite, throwing cells and some shotputs, climb the ladder and do not move forward, hit her with termite til it procs, run down the ladder, repeat as necessary with the other stuff you got, at half her HP she'll call in a clone...climb up then back down once or twice, clone should be gone, rest of the fight should be cake...or you can keep throwing or hit her with the arm cannon to finish her off for Xtra cheese...but you should at least try to preserve some dignity.

                                                  • Anonymous

                                                    Not easy.
But in the end my only problem was to connect with a charged attack when the bar gets white.
I recommend the fable art of that electric baton. Much faster and counts as charged too.

Acidic crystal spear handle + Salamander dagger.
Just poke as much as you can to try and proc the burn.
This fight heavily relies on being able to time blocks perfectly so take the time to learn her pattern.
I've pretty much only used the lightning arm for the whole game but for this fight I had to swap to the shield to help proc the visceral attacks.

                                                      • Anonymous

She is targetable before she actually aggros and can be damaged before her health bar appears. So you can stand at the ladder and pelt her with thermite to take a massive chunk off of her HP before she can even start the fight

                                                        • Anonymous

Definitely the most difficult and frustrating boss in the game and maybe one of the more cheesy bosses ever made. The parry system is necessary here and given that the Lies of P devs made a broken system, this fight is an absolute chore. Prepare to bang your head against the wall.

                                                          • Anonymous

This boss would be excellent if the parry system worked like sekiro's, or even felt slightly intuitive. But it doesnt so here we are

                                                            • Anonymous

Not nearly as hard as you´d think. His clone dies in a few hits and he will ignore you while you fight him unless you get too close, his moveset is limited and can easily be dodged by simply strafing to his side and rolling here and there. Took me 30ish mins with a +8 weapon.

One of the few bosses I actually recommend cheating against. Do not reward developers for these lazy boss designs.

                                                                • Anonymous

Good story prefacing. F***ing hated fighting the c**t tho lol

                                                                  • Anonymous

                                                                    • Anonymous

                                                                      • Anonymous

                                                                        • Anonymous

                                                                          • Anonymous

a tricky timing to get used to, the swing animations come so suddenly. I found the parry fable art more viable when she goes crazy, lots of chances to use it.

She doesnt stay staggerable for long, she casts a distruption skill to recover. Doesnt matter how much stagger window P organ you invested in. Shot put throwable brings the stagger even if she jumps back, much faster and tracks better than charge r2.

when the clone comes, the boss AI changes, the boss will move away and the clone will do most of the attacking. They dont really gank unless you run to the boss as it backs away. Clone should go down quickly if you focus it.

                                                                            • Ok, so she:

                                                                              - teleports across the room to reach you no matter where you are

                                                                              - prevents you from repairing with said agression

                                                                              Ugh. Am I missing anything?

                                                                                • Anonymous

I think my game glitched. when i fought the boss on my third or fourth try, i think hit it so hard it didn't go into its second phase.

Did I play a different fight to everyone else? She was extremely easy to just block and parry. Her timings are really intuitive compared to most other bosses, and her openings are pretty safe.

                                                                                    • Anonymous

You can glitch her in place, if you shoot her with a rocket and then climb the ladder down. Don't go all the way down, just have your head just below the hatch (so she can't hit you) As she starts to walk back to her starting position, slowly climb up and off the ladder and wait for her to reset back into her first spot. You will now be able to throw everything you own at her (including those 30 sawtooth wheels your hording) and she won't react, unless you move into her area.

                                                                                      • Anonymous

If you want you can cheese this boss by going up the ladder and using a throwing weapon (or falcon eyes if your dex), then quickly climbing back down before you get hit. Although for some reason when the clone is out she doesn't lose aggro and camps the ladder so I recommend just fighting until it disappears before doing ladder strat again.
